PRECIPITATION IMAGING PROBE (PIP)

SPECIFICATIONS:

• Classic airborne 2-Dimensional imaging probe, with the expanded capability of the 64-element diode array and fast Digital Signal Processing electronics
• Probe resolution is 100µm with a particle sizing range of 6.2mm. Sample area is 26cm x 6.2mm. Maximum airspeed: 200m/s.
• PIP electronics generate a high-speed RS-422 serial stream of 2-Dimensional image data
• PIP electronics also generates a standard RS-232 or RS-422 serial data stream of 1-Dimensional, 64-bin histogram data of particle size along with housekeeping information
• Includes DMT's "PACS" software package, which is a powerful Window's tool for real-time display, data recording, and play back. PACS can be used in the calibration lab or on small airborne projects
• Compatible with DMT's more powerful "PADS" software package
• Data collection computer and interface cards are an available option
• The "Spinning Disk" calibration device included
• Powered by: +28VDC, 3A, for the system electronics. Anti-icing heaters use +28VDC at 8A
