2011 DMT Depolarization User's Group Workshop, Boulder, Colorado
In 2006 DMT began developing instrumentation to detect the asphericity of particles by measuring the depolarization of the scattered light. The basic technique of measuring the depolarization ratio of the backscattered light has now been applied in cloud chamber experiments, airborne studies of clouds and volcanic ash and ground based air quality measurements. In this workshop, participants presented data sets of interest and discussed analysis techniques, calibration methodology, and terminology to be used in publications.
